Climate change poses one of the greatest risks to society, deserving both the utmost attention and urgent action. Many climate leaders and policy advocates are focusing their efforts on decarbonization pathways to net zero emissions, with government entities not far behind. For years, state and local agencies have been tracking their greenhouse gas inventory to outline measurable goals for reduction. In an effort to reignite momentum and necessary funding behind these efforts, this past March, the Environmental Protection Agency unveiled their Climate Pollution Reduction Grants (CPRG) program providing support to states, local governments, tribes, and territories to be used to develop and implement plans for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and other harmful air pollutants regardless of where they are in their climate action journey.

In this webcast, GovExec and KPMG will explore the importance of these funding opportunities, the key priorities and objectives in the Climate Action Planning space, understand the progress being made on greenhouse gas emission inventories and projections, and hear from public sector officials on their recommendations for climate leaders just beginning their important journeys in climate pollution reduction.
