Tannura Elie is the Deputy Assistant Commissioner for the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Bureau of the Fiscal Service (Fiscal Service) and the Acting Deputy Assistant Commissioner for the Collections and Deposits within Revenue Collections Management (RCM). Mrs. Elie provides executive oversight of the government's revenue collection programs and provides executive day-to-day leadership in support of the settlement of nearly $6 trillion in federal revenue each year (e.g., taxes, fees, fines, loan repayments, customs duties, donations) and the processing of 600 million transactions annually.
Mrs. Elie has oversight over the nation’s tax revenue collection systems and services, including the IRS Lockbox Network and Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS) which, combined, annually process over 260 million items worth nearly $5 trillion.
She is also responsible for the annual transfer of over $660 billion in federal financial assistance between the federal government and states. Mrs. Elie maintains strategic partnerships with commercial banks as well as Federal Reserve Banks that serve as agents of the U.S. Treasury and perform the essential functions necessary for collecting federal operating revenue. She provides advice and assistance to revenue collection programs on information technology system architecture and design, software development, investment governance, program and project management, and system security, assessment, and authorization.
Mrs. Elie has over 20 years of financial management experience in commercial banking, corporate cash management, and state, local, and federal governments. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Howard University and a master’s degree from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
