Digital Science | The Pitfalls and Opportunities of Leveraging AI in Research

Header and Body

Tune in December 9th at 2 pm ET!

AI is rapidly transforming the research landscape. It’s driving new discoveries while raising questions about transparency, governance, and security. The U.S. government’s AI Action Plan highlights the need for trustworthy, safe, secure, and accountable AI systems that protect data integrity and promote responsible innovation. Research agencies and institutions are now focused on ensuring AI strengthens national security without compromising it.

As AI tools shape every stage of the research lifecycle, the challenge is not whether to use them, but how to use them responsibly. Join Heidi Beck, Product Manager at Digital Science to learn how secure and transparent AI can protect national research investments while accelerating innovation. Attendees will also gain insights into:

  • Building trusted AI systems rooted in high-quality, enriched data
  • Considerations for using AI in compliance environments
  • Safeguarding research security against data misuse and foreign interference

Drawing on her work with Dimensions — a global research intelligence platform used by governments and institutions worldwide — Heidi will share how data transparency and secure, policy-aligned AI can help research agencies accelerate discovery while preserving trust.
