Super-charging Earth Observation Analysis with Geospatial AI

20 minutes
ON DEMAND

The Earth Engine Data Catalog hosts petabytes of Earth Observation imagery and other geospatial datasets, and hundreds of thousands of new assets are added each week, but efficiently and effectively processing these data streams into decision-ready insights remains an ongoing challenge. This presentation will highlight a few ways Google is using state-of-the-art deep learning approaches to help shortcut the laborious preprocessing aspects of your Earth observation workflows and make datasets more analysis-ready. We’ll cover how we generate 10-meter land cover predictions for individual Sentinel-2 acquisitions to unlock new monitoring use cases and how we’re using a weakly supervised video model to generate easy-to-apply quality assessments to make sure you’re selecting only the clearest pixels for your analysis. Then we’ll share a first look at our latest efforts to further accelerate mapping and monitoring via our embedding field model, yielding a new deep-learning-powered feature space specifically designed to help you make better maps faster.
