As NASA pushes the boundaries of space exploration, computing technology plays a crucial role in sustaining life, advancing science, and supporting complex operations aboard the International Space Station (ISS). From the earliest days of on-orbit computing to the upcoming Artemis missions, NASA’s collaboration with HP has evolved the performance, reliability, and mission readiness of mobile workstations in space.

In this conversation with NASA’s Manager of ISS Computer Resources, Stephen Hunter, we will trace the ISS’s transition from early laptop platforms to today’s advanced HP Z Workstations, highlighting critical science, engineering, and international collaboration use cases. HP and AMD experts will also share how their partnership is shaping the next generation of mission-critical computing—delivering breakthrough performance, energy efficiency, and rugged design for extreme environments. Together, the panel will explore how high-performance computing is powering innovation not only for space missions but also for Federal agencies on Earth, from defense and intelligence to civilian operations, setting the stage for the future of computing at the edge.
