With the national maternal mortality rate steadily increasing over the past few years, the United States now has one of the worst rates among other industrialized countries. Factors such as the increased cost of healthcare, a limited number of specialized medical caregivers, and societal biases have placed those who are pregnant at great risk. This session will look into the potential ways out of this crisis, and into a new era of American maternal healthcare.
