Building Back Better with the American Rescue Plan
Gundeep Ahluwalia, Chief Information Officer, U.S. Department of Labor
Vid Desai, Chief Technology Officer, U.S. Food and Drug Adminstration
Sanjay Gupta, Chief Technology Officer, U.S. Small Business Administration
The American Rescue Plan (ARP) funds nearly $2 billion for public sector modernization, alleviates some of the short-term financial trauma that impacts almost every community across the country, and offers options to overcome shortcomings while rebuilding for a stronger and more sustainable future. This moment is too important to go to waste. The short-term strategies contained in the ARP are designed to address undeniable and urgent needs but it also represents a chance to invest in a more sustainable, efficient, and digital government of tomorrow. Given the complexity of agency-wide modernization, which initiatives should Federal CIOs prioritize? This program will bring together government and industry leaders to discuss challenges to and best practices for changing the way agencies think about legacy systems and creating a more efficient government.
