As the engine behind AI, data center networks play a critical role in interconnecting and maximizing Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) capabilities. Reducing job completion time (JCT)—the time it takes to complete each round of AI training—is key to faster training of AI models and, ultimately, cost savings. However, traditional data center technologies and designs fall short of the demanding performance and capacity requirements AI workloads place on network infrastructure.

As organizations try to avoid lock-in and supply chain bottlenecks associated with InfiniBand, enterprises are increasingly turning to Ethernet as the preferred, and open, networking alternative for AI data centers.

This webcast will address the AI use case for networking, and how organizations can leverage Ethernet to deliver the network performance and capacity that AI/ML systems require.

Ms. Roselyn Richardson is an accomplished Cyber Professional at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), where she is driving digital transformation and modernization initiatives in Architecture, Cyber for Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, and Cloud. With a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Capella University and a Master of Science in Data Analytics also from Capella University, Roselyn brings a strong foundation in Cyber to her work.

She is a highly esteemed leader in the field of Information Technology and Cybersecurity, with a career spanning over 36 years. She has directed a wide array of Science and Technology IT and engineering initiatives with a particular focus on developing and implementing cyber solutions in support of the critical Air Force Science and Technology Programs.
In 1988, Roselyn entered civil service and served as the Assistance to the Director of the Landing Gear Test Facility where she worked her way up to becoming an Engineering Technician responsible for strain gage testing and supporting dynamometer testing of NASA’s Space Shuttle Landing Gear and other platforms. She then transitioned in the mid 90’s to become Deputy Chief Information Officer and Chief Technology Officer of the Flight Dynamics Directorate where she focused on technology strategy and technological innovation for Air Vehicle Platforms.

In 2006 she was assigned to AFRL Headquarters where she led a team to create the first ever cybersecurity program for AFRL’s Science and Technology mission to include creating tactics, techniques and procedures for securing critical research and development assets from advanced persistent threats. In 2016 Roselyn was named as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Authorizing Official Designated Representative (AODR) for AFRL where she was charged with developing and implementing AFRL’s information security strategy and ensuring the protection of data and IT assets.

Currently, Roselyn serves as the Architecture Lead, Cyber AI and Cloud Lead for the Digital Capabilities Directorate, where she aims to reduce business toil through the intersection of architecture, AI and cloud enabling access to emerging technologies to enhance the S&T mission of AFRL. Roselyn’s research interests include Enterprise Architecture, Advanced Analytics, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, Quantum Computing and Cybersecurity. She is passionate about leveraging her expertise to drive innovation and modernization in AFRL, the Air Force and beyond.
