Joe Greenfield
Management Analyst
Texas DMV
Joe Greenfield is a Management Analyst in the IT Department at the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, where he brings practical applications of AI into government operations—improving efficiency and service delivery for Texas residents through modern cloud and AI-driven solutions.
At eight years old, Joe's grandfather handed him tools and told him to take the lawnmower apart before he could earn money mowing—then put it back together. The first attempt failed. The second, with method and sequence, worked. The lesson stuck: to improve something, first understand how it works, then apply discipline to make it better.
Joe has carried that mindset across a career spent solving problems end-to-end—over a decade running his own business, then building networks, databases, and training systems without formal technical training. He holds a Master's in Quality Systems Management and a BA from UT Austin.
He sees AI as the natural evolution of this work: not replacing people, but making continuous improvement an always-on process where systems evolve as fast as the problems they solve.
