Welcome to the GovExec 360 Financial Management Forum.

Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, many state and local governments were conducting business with legacy systems and struggling to demonstrate the importance of why additional funds were needed to modernize their systems. The nature of the pandemic required all government agencies to rapidly shift their operations. However, decades of underinvestment made those efforts initially different. Federal funds from the CARES Act and American Rescue Plan have helped many state and local governments finally make the investments they need to modernize their technology platforms. In this session, we will examine how states, cities and counties have modernized their technology infrastructure and invested in cloud computing — and how those communities plan to keep up with technology advancements in the future.

One of the most significant investments of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act is in electric vehicles and infrastructure. States and localities are working diligently to make plans to accommodate for the expected commercial electric vehicle explosion as well as identifying opportunities to electrify their vehicle fleets. In this discussion, we will feature one jurisdiction that is working collaboratively across levels of government and industry to be a leader in electric vehicle deployment.
