Demystifying Quantum

Join Us In-Person November 17 at 8 AM EST

Quantum technology is advancing from theoretical research toward operational defense capabilities, creating both urgent imperatives and strategic opportunities for government and industry leaders. Success will depend on distinguishing near-term, deployable field solutions from aspirational concepts. Quantum computing, sensing, and communications are most likely to complement, not simply replace, existing systems, with their impact significantly amplified when integrated with artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, and resilient edge IT.

Federal mandates now require agencies to audit legacy systems and accelerate adoption of post-quantum protections in response to “harvest now, decrypt later” threats. Beyond data protection, the integration of quantum technologies and AI could help address persistent military challenges and deliver real-time decision advantages in areas such as ship design, predictive maintenance, and force scheduling.

This briefing provides Department of War leaders and program managers with a practical roadmap for navigating industry terminology, evaluating vendor capabilities, leveraging public-private partnerships, meeting federal requirements, and building a sustained warfighting advantage.

This event will:

• Establish a clear foundation in quantum concepts and equip attendees with essential industry vocabulary to evaluate vendor capabilities and distinguish field-ready tech from long-term concepts.
• Unpack the executive directives, auditing and inventory and action requirements, and immediate priorities for naval and expeditionary leaders.
• Discuss the near-term quantum applications to enhance fleet readiness, supply chains, and operational planning.
• Explore the training opportunities and workforce development programs that can prepare the maritime workforce to deploy, operate, and sustain quantum systems in the field.
