After retiring from the military where he spent 17 of 20 years serving in the Special Operations community, Todd Brinson decided to pursue his career as a civil servant.  Todd is currently the Director of the Customer Advocacy and IT Service Management Office at the Department of Energy and has over 15 years’ experience helping Federal CIO’s develop and deliver cost effective, resilient, secure services that meet customer needs.  Specializing in IT Service Delivery, Todd uses that experience to build relationships with customers to understand their pain points and co-create services that meet their Use and Utility expectations. 

By focusing on providing Value for the customer, Todd has been able to put the Masters of Project Management he earned at Penn State to good use.  Over the years his strengths at the Department of Energy has garnered recognition for completing multiple high visibility, highly complex initiatives despite being introduced to unconventional challenges.  Todd may spend his days at the Germantown complex of the Department of Energy but it’s the ability to drive and leverage innovation to meet customer demands that gets him up in the morning. 

When he’s not working at the Department of Energy Todd enjoys traveling the Country by RV with his family and attending Penn State sporting events. 

Karen is the Vice President of MS-ISAC Member Engagement at the Center for Internet Security. Karen served over three decades with the New York State Office of Information Technology Services, operating most recently as the as Chief Information Security Officer. Karen has a wealth of experience and has continued to grow the MS-ISAC network as local governments and counties seek to modernize their cybersecurity practices and services.

Andy Grimes is a Sales Specialist for Cloud Services that supports our commercial and public sector cloud services business. Andy has a history of working with cloud services with a recent role at AWS and working with hybrid cloud solutions including storage, server, container and automation technologies to drive business value for customers.

Pete Chestna serves as the CISO of North America at Checkmarx, where he provides customers and prospects with practical advice for building successful application security programs. Bringing more than 15 years of direct AppSec practitioner experience, Pete has held roles ranging from developer and development leader to his most recent position as the Global Head of AppSec for the Bank of Montreal where he was responsible for the security of thousands of applications.

Over his years as a software engineer and engineering leader, Pete has led organizational transformations from Waterfall to Agile to DevOps and from monolith to microservice architectures. He is certified as both a scrum master and product owner. Stemming from his experience as both an avid practitioner and consultant, Pete has spoken internationally at numerous prominent security and developer conferences including DevOpsDays, All Day DevOps, OWASP AppSec, and DevSecCon.

Pete has been granted 3 patents. He enjoys whiskey tourism, astronomy, model rocketry and listening to Rush in his spare time.
